Hi all, I just joined, and wanted to say howdy! I am allmost finished with my stills, one 1/4 beer keg, the other a 1/2 keg setup. I didn't mean to make two, it just happened! Iguess the 7 gallon will be for test batches. The set up uses K-F fittings (Kwick Fitting)that fit the Sanke socket, and the 2" id pipe. So from pot still to reflux in 1 minute.
I have 7 years beer brewing under my belt (did I say that?), and have made 1 batch of 80% 'shine with the Kenmore, plus 3 quarts of cranberry brandy. 5 gallons of 15% "whisky wash" are waiting for a still to get finished (this weekend?)I just need a grinder to remove a leaking fitting and then I'll re-weld it.
Any one in the S.F. Bay Area?

Sat, August 20, 2005 - 3:43 PMHello Paul, I'm new here myself. If we share all the goods, bads, and Uglies with each other and maybe there will be a Utopia somewhere, (By the way, Utopia means Nowhere).

Re: New to Tribe
Sat, August 20, 2005 - 3:40 PMHey, are we all primates? I just joined the tribe. I'm setting up a small (6 qt, ss pressure cooker type dingus). Questions abound but the one one my mind is - 3/8" or 1/4" copper line. Your reconmendation? (1/4" is cheaper, but which works best?) I live in southern Indiana and I'm new to this game.

Re: New to Tribe
Thu, April 27, 2006 - 7:50 PMI just joined to - done a lot of brewing, distallation is my next step and I have bought a commercial still (they are legal here in Oz for water and oils and they sell them with the New Zealand instructions where alcohol distillation is legal (maybe that's why there are so many blind new zealanders!).
Looking forward to reading all theposts - will be distilling my first batch after the weekend.
Regards
Ian
