Anyone here interested in a small scale, cheap still?
Sears sells them, small basic pot stills. Nothing special, but I would love for someone who tinkers to check one out and help me work out a way to control the temp on the internal ALL-IN-ONE heater unit.
It would make a much better still if I could control the tep and maybe even the speed of heatup.

Sat, March 13, 2004 - 8:41 PMThe circutry is very basc, its basically an all in one 'heater' core wiht wires that control a fan cooler unit that blows on the condensor coil.
There isnt much to it, I think you would have to open the heter core unit to make a major change. Or switch it out.
If you check it out, let me know what you think. Wish I still had my electronics guru buddy. He would have done it with his eyes closed.

after a dozen uses, the system started "burping" up herbs alot, the alcohol seemed to damage the plastic in some areas and the unit broke...
Never did adjust the electronics, but now I need to try to fix the pot mountings
