What books are recommended for Home Distilling?
I own the Alaskan Bootleggers Bible by Leon Kania. It's okay, but I don't like it's layout. Not quite as 'to the point' as I like. And not much theory in it. It does contain rough plans to build 8 or 10 different home stills of varying complexity...which is nice.

Fri, May 28, 2004 - 8:08 PMI also own the alaska bootleggers bible, built the crockpot still, but it didn't work - at least not during the hour I ran it.
Here are some other references I've found:
Lore of Still Building by Kathleen Howard, Norman Gibat - I've never read it, it has reasonable reviews on Amazon.com
www.gin-vodka.com/ - has a downloadable book I've bought - very detailed, just haven't built either of their designs yet.
